The AMMANN ABA UniBatch 210 asphalt plant, located in Aleșd, Bihor country, started to operate on March 2024.
Its maximum output capacity is 210 t/h and, according to our estimates, some 70,000 tons of asphalt mixtures shall be produced here by the end of the first operation year.
Using quarry/gravel pit aggregates, this plant produces 50/70 Bitumen, PMB (modified bitumen) and limestone filler, different types of asphalt mixtures, as follows: MA 8, BA 8, BA 16, BAP16, BAR 16, AB 31.5, BAD 22.4, MAS 16, as well as colored asphalt (red, green, etc.).
Order placement and delivery is both fast and effective, orders being processed within 24 hours at the most from placement and payment. The asphalt is delivered in optimal conditions across distances of up to 100 kilometers, therefore we can also cover the counties of Cluj, Satu Mare and Sălaj.

PORR Romania used the asphalt produced in Aleșd for key projects in Bihor county, such as: DJ 767E Orșorhei-Copăcel (12,7 km) county road rehabilitation and the Oșorhei, Sântandrei and Nojorid bypasses.
Construction Testing and Trial Laboratory.
One of the PORR Romania laboratories is also located inside the asphalt plant (ISC authorization no. 3796/2022), divided into 17 profiles comprising 187 trials.
Main activities of the laboratory.
- Carrying out geotechnical investigations through specific laboratory tests, but also field tests for the technical assessment of the quality of the materials used, performing static and dynamic tests on earthworks;
- Compliance with and implementation of European material assessment methods;
- Carrying out tests on materials used in road works;
- Studies and trials for the implementation of new materials and high-performance road technologies;
- Research for adhesion to and implementation of state-of-the-art methods to for material assessment and design of asphalt mixtures used in the execution of road pavements.
