A building like an excellent wine.
One of Romania’s most advanced wineries, “Winery LacertA”, is located in the little village Fințești in Buzau. Situated in the south of the Romanian Carpathians, the area around Fințești benefits from a lot of wet springs as well as long, dry and sunny autumns. As a result, this area ensures the processing of the grapes under best circumstances and quality conditions.
Designed by Tyrolean architects Volker Miklautz and Markus Gärtner, the construction of the new winery building started in 2010 and was executed by PORR Construct S.R.L.
Our scope of work was to build four different levels, covering all the different fields of a winery. In the underground level the wine production itself takes place.
In the intermediate storey above, all the technical facilities are located. The ground level is the designated place for the acceptance and sorting hall, as well as the equipment depot, the kitchen, administration, locker rooms and sanitary facilities. In the upper level the winery offers a degustation room for guests.
After 15 months, PORR finished all construction work on time and to the full satisfaction of the customer. The result is a multi-faceted building that reveals its versatility over time – just like a very pleasant wine.
